Support

Sue Cave has more than 10 years-experience of supporting primary schools to deliver a foreign language. Her aim is to ensure that colleagues in schools have the confidence and ability to deliver high quality language lessons which meet the requirements of the Key Stage 2 Programme of Study. This support is provided through the methodology and linguistic upskilling training sessions below, INSET and at national conferences.

Cave Languages Schemes of Work

Methodology Videos

To support the delivery of the Cave Languages schemes of work, there are 3 videos for each year or mixed-year group and are designed to be viewed at the start of each term. They can be accessed when and as many times as you wish between June 2024 and May 2025.

Introduction to the Schemes of Work Video

There is a video available for schools about to adopt either the KS2 or Mixed-Age Cave Languages Scheme of Work. It can be accessed and viewed as many times as you wish between June 2024 and May 2025.

French Language Upskilling

Grammar

For anyone delivering French lessons in primary schools and lacks confidence in knowledge of French grammar. There is a training video for teaching in lower KS2 and one for upper KS2. They can be accessed when and as many times as you wish between June 2024 and May 2025.

Pronunciation

For anyone lacking confidence in French pronunciation. There are two online training courses available which can be booked at a mutually convenient time.

French Pronunciation 1 - one session of 1 hour 30 minutes

French Pronunciation 2 - two sessions of 1 hour 15 minutes

Whole School INSET

Cave Languages can deliver INSET courses on a variety of topics to support the delivery of languages in Key Stage 2 in your school or network - twilight, half day or whole day. For linguistic upskilling for primary teachers – see above. Please get in touch if you are interested in this.
